Installing ROLLA 0.4.1
The trial and the full product are the same download. ROLLA runs fully for 7 days from the first time it loads, then plays silence until you enter a license. The Mac package is signed and notarized by Apple and opens without a warning; the Windows installer is not yet signed, so Windows shows one warning the first time. Here is exactly what you will see and what to do.
Mac (Apple silicon, macOS 15 or later)
- Download Rolla-0.4.1.pkg from your Gumroad download page. Close your DAW and ROLLA.
- Double-click the package. From 0.4.0 the package is signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so the installer opens directly with no security warning and no trip to System Settings.
- Keep the sound library selected and finish the steps. About 2 GB is written to /Library/Application Support/ROLLA Audio/ROLLA. Upgrading from 0.2.x: the installer removes the old VibeMind/Rolla library copy and ROLLA copies your user presets and license forward the first time it loads.
- Reopen your DAW and let its plugin scan finish. Ableton Live must run natively on Apple silicon, not in Rosetta, for this arm64-only build. AU, VST3 and a standalone app are installed.
Intel Macs and macOS versions before 15 are not supported. If macOS still shows a “Not Opened” dialog, the download was interrupted: delete it, download again and compare the file size on the Gumroad page. Anything else, email support with the exact message.
Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Download Rolla-0.4.1-Setup.exe from your Gumroad download page. Close your DAW and ROLLA.
- Run the installer. Windows may show a SmartScreen “Windows protected your PC” screen or an unknown-publisher prompt. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Leave the library and presets selected and finish the steps.
- Reopen your DAW and rescan VST3 plugins if it does not find ROLLA automatically. VST3 and a standalone app are installed.
Verified so far: Ableton Live 12 on Windows 11. FL Studio is not verified yet. If Windows blocks the file outright, email support with a screenshot.
First sound in one minute
- Put ROLLA on an instrument track. It opens on a Roller preset, ready to play.
- Hold MIDI note 62 (D3 in Ableton; octave names vary between DAWs, the note number does not). One held key plays the rolling bassline.
- Open the preset browser and load Optics Roller, the sound from our demos. While it rolls, turn CUTOFF, GATE and DELAY.
- Standalone app: pick an audio output in Options, then click the main panel and hold S for MIDI 62. Z and X move the typing octave; the number row always fires drum slots 1 to 12.
- Drums: turn the DRUMS panel ON, choose a pattern, and start your DAW’s transport — the pattern runs with the project, nothing held. Tap a key from C0 to B0 (MIDI 24 to 35) to switch pattern; hold one past the bar line and it plays as a fill, then hands back.
Trial and activation
- The 7-day trial starts the first time ROLLA loads on your computer. No key or account is needed. Click LIC at any time to see the days left.
- When it ends, ROLLA stays installed and your projects keep every setting, but it plays silence until a license is entered.
- To keep it, buy a license ($79, one-time). The key arrives in a separate email; check spam. Click LIC, paste the whole license block, click ACTIVATE, then CONTINUE. Sound returns immediately, including in projects saved during the trial.
- The Gumroad receipt or order number is not the license. If the key does not arrive, email support@rollaaudio.com from your purchase email with the order number.
Help
- support@rollaaudio.com. Include your OS and DAW versions, the preset, your audio device, the steps and the exact error text.
- If notes keep ringing, switch LATCH off and press STOP. If presets are missing, reinstall with the library selected.
